National Bargaining 2007: Endorsing your Claims and Bargaining Team
The *combined university unions’ industrial representatives have considered and finalised a recommended set of claims from those gathered around the country. The proposed national claims, some elements of which will be progressed initially through the tripartite process, will deal with salaries, the term of any agreement, time release for union delegates and branch officials, some maternity protections and the requirement that employers genuinely engage in any problem-solving mechanisms to deal with local issue not resolved in the bargaining process.
The meetings will also advise how any local claims will be dealt with in the national bargaining context.
Further meetings will be called to report progress from the tripartite process between the unions, Government and vice-chancellors as progress is made.
