VARIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY ACADEMIC STAFF COLLECTIVE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
IN TERMS OF SECTION E Remuneration, E.1 Academic Salary Scales (Professor)

The parties to the Collective Agreement agree that the following variation is agreed for the salary scale for Professors:

1. Clause E.1 Academic Salary Scale

The fourteen salary steps for Professor will be replaces by a seven step scale effective as of the date of signing with the salary scale for the seven steps to apply as of 1st January 2008.

The following 14 step scale for Professors is to be deleted:-

and replaced with the following seven step salary scale for professors, with the salary change to be effective as from 1st January 2008 and there will be added the new category of Distinguished Professor:

The movement from the fourteen step salary scale, to the seven point salary scale will be as follows, effective:-
for the purposes of applying for academic promotion as of the date of this variation;
for salary increases as of 1st January 2008):
